








A delegation led by Professor Dr. Hasanat M. Husain MBE, President of Voice for Global Bangladeshis (VfGB), paid a courtesy call on the Leader of the Opposition and Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.
The meeting took place at 2:00 pm on Thursday at the Office of the Leader of the Opposition in the Jatiya Sangsad (National Parliament) Building.
During the discussion, both sides exchanged views on the opportunities, challenges, and welfare of Bangladeshi expatriates living around the world. The VfGB delegation emphasized the need for more effective policies to support the Bangladeshi diaspora and sought the Opposition’s support in incorporating key expatriate-related proposals into the upcoming national budget.
The delegation also highlighted the importance of expanding existing facilities for overseas Bangladeshis, improving the quality of government services available to them, and creating a more supportive environment for investment and asset management in Bangladesh.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman praised the invaluable contributions of Bangladeshi expatriates to the country’s economy, national development, and the enhancement of Bangladesh’s international image. He assured the delegation of his positive support for initiatives aimed at protecting the rights and welfare of overseas Bangladeshis and addressing their legitimate concerns.

Husain, Executive Member, London; Dr. Shawkat Ali, Executive Member, New York; and Dr. Hannan Mirza, Bangladesh Coordinator, Dhaka.
